For Sale from Mtn Top Morgans, Brooklyn MI

The handling of our foals and horses here at MtnTop Morgans is one we take very seriously. The care and training of our foals starts at the moment of their birth. Lessons learned at this age can last a lifetime. Match that training with the genetic predisposition of a Morgan and the end result is an outstanding adult horse that not only loves people but is a willing partner.

All our foals are handled daily and learn to stand tied, lead, be clip, vacuumed, have their feet trimmed, etc. all in a very relaxed frame of mind. If a horse comes here as an untrained horse they will get all the required handling to become a respectful quiet horse before being started under saddle. This is important for the horse/human relationship.

All my babies are dewormed monthly and get monthly hoof trimming. They come with AMHA registration, transfer of ownership to AMHA, Coggins and US health certificate and all the normal foal training that my babies get. Our training page has links to many of our YouTube videos that show how we handle our horses, from foalhood through under saddle work. We invite you to check them out! I am also adding in for this year for anyone that buys one of my 2011 foals will receive a future discount if the foal comes back to me for training under saddle!

AMBERFIELD'S DUN LOVIN
(Stormwashed x Finally's Just a Dandy)
2001 brown dun mare (EE Aa Dd)

I think it is always difficult to decide who to keep and who to list for sale. But I do know that as much as I would like to we can't keep them all LOL. So when we decided to keep a few other horses we had to figure out who to list and while I am very sad about it we will be offering the beautiful 2001 brown dun Morgan mare, Amberfields Dun Lovin up for sale.

Lovey is such a sweet and loving girl she is one of the most people person horses around. Talk about can I crawl in your pocket. She isn't pushy but certainly will hang out with people where ever they are. I have been riding her off and on now for over a year. I have taken her to a clinic and a show and have taken her trail riding. She does this all very naturally. She stands tied all day if need be and is a dream to bathe, clip and trim. As a riding horse I do think that she prefers more western and trail riding. She is very light in the bit and moves off your legs and seat with just a breath of movement. Novice and above riders I also think mainly because if you tend to get heavy handed she doesn't really like that very much- but then really who does, right?

She is a strongly bred Lippitt mare bringing in Senator Graham, Jubilee King, Sentola (full sister to Jubilee King) and Flyhawk through her dam's side. And then Lippitt, Red Correll (not through Blackwood Correll, which is difficult to find), Flyhawk and Winterset in a nice healthy dose along with of course Jubilee King through her sire line. Add to that Lovey is homozygous for the black gene and all her foals are guaranteed to be black based.

Lovey is in foal to Polly Smith's cream stallion, Baptiste Blue Hawaii for a April/May 2012 foal. (color options for the foal can only be dunskin, buckskin, smoky grulla or smoky black) Her price includes UTD shots, coggins, US health certificate and AMHA transfer. Priced at $5,800.00 if you want the foal or she can stay here until we wean the foal for $4,500.00 (without the foal; if you want a tune up on riding during the last month before the foal is weaned that is something we can work out as well). Payment plans available. Below is a video we did today, October 9, 2011, we are doing arena work, walk, trot, lope, hips, shoulders etc. The last two minutes of the video my husband and I took her out to a friends' for a quick ride. She had never been ridden in this area before and I was pleased that she would just walk away from my husband's horse. Then much to my surprise my husband said "why don't I hop on and ride her?" Kurt is a novice rider at best and has never ridden Lovey ever!!! I like how you can tell she is trying to figure out his seat and what he is asking. Just a quick glance at her on the trail.

BRMF THE YELLOW ROSE
(Universal Gold Card X Shera Scarlett O'Hara)
2004 palomino mare (ee aa N/Cr)
video of Rose under saddle

I have been back and forth and back and forth on whether to list this mare for sale or not. I have Rose's sire in my herd- Universal Gold Card, who can be found on my stallion page. So that makes my breeding options for her very limited. So after much debate we decided to list her for sale.

Rose was trained to drive and ride by the Amish. I have ground driven her here but I don't have the equipment or room to drive her. She rides under saddle like a charm. Moves fantastic off your leg and seat. Nice round circle work all from big circles to tiny circles. Moves haunches over or turn on the forehand. Stops and back right off your seat. You can ride her with little to no contact or with contact, she doesn't mind either way. Moves right into the lope from a walk, very smooth, no rushing. Trail rides wonderfully as well. Not a spooky mare and is very attentive to what the rider is asking of her.

Rose's pedigree is almost an upside down version of our cremello mare, Faith, but she has the added Californio and an extra Whippoorwill to Red Correll not through Duke which I love. She has the added bonus of some Lippitt, which I think gives great bone. Rose is 100% Foundation breeding. Rose is middle of the herd and would love to think she is higher up but is happy to be in third position LOL. She is fine stalled or pastured, blankets well, stands and sleeps for the farrier and most likely I could leave her tied all day and she would sleep.

Priced at $3500.00 which includes shots, Coggins, health certificate (US only), transfer of AMHA papers AND if you are interested I might work out something for her on breeding her to my stallion, MtnTop Whippoorwill Tanek; he is homozygous for black so the foal can only be black or smoky black (I had this cross a few years back and the foal was incredible!).

SPRINGLAKE JUSTINE
(SpringLake Pallidin x Southbrook Trophy's Summer)
2009 liver chestnut mare, 100% Foundation

Here is a wonderful girl that I have in for training. She is learning all her ground manners, desensitizing and voice control etc. There are two videos; part one shows a lot more versatile stuff, if you only want to watch one :-) For those that know my mother's stallion Spring Lake Thistle, this would be his maternal sister (same dam), and two of my foals from 2011, MtnTop Goodness Gracious and MtnTop Marcus Aurelius, are her paternal siblings as well (same sire). Justine has a very lovely trot and is nice and upheaded. When it comes to training she really gives it her best. As for bloodlines, through the sire line she traces to "Figure" within 13 generations (several times) and add in her crosses to Trophy in both the 3rd and 4th generation (and 6th)- can you say WOW, you don't find that everyday. She is priced at $3000 right now; that includes her transfer of AMHA papers, coggins and US health papers. Her price will start to go up as her training increases, so grab her now while the price is great. We can work out something for her to stay here and get a few more months of training if someone would like that as well- just contact me.

SPRINGLAKE MERCEEBEAUCU
(Spring Lake Pallidin x Showbiz Chaotic)
2009 bay gelding

Beau is a really cute thing. His dam was actually bred to Pal with the foal already sold, but in the meantime the owners fell in love with another of mom's horses so they took that one instead, leaving mom with the foal. All in all a wonderful deal. Beau's dam is from some of today's most sought after show lines, a granddaughter of both Tedwin Topic AND I Will Command. Crossing her with Pal, of all strong government lines, gave us this beautiful little boy. Beau is not and will not be a big boy as his dam is fairly small. I suspect Beau to finish out about 14 hands so he will make a wonderful Junior/kids horse as he does have it all going on. Check out his beautiful lovely head it fits well with his attitude towards people as he just LOVES everyone. Price includes UTD on shots, coggins and transfer of AMHA registration. $1200. Foal picture of Beau at 3 days below, and then 8/2010 (above).
